This project entailed complete refurbishment of three Georgian townhouses to convert them into modern compliant residential accommodations. A number of conservation measures were adopted to preserve original features of this listed building – this included the complete overhaul of all period timber windows and wig pointing.
Wig pointing is the technique used to renew and repair the façades of brick buildings in Dublin. This technique enabled us to preserve the historic brick and aesthetic of the building, in keeping with the neighbouring buildings yet refreshing the overall appearance and replacing decayed/damaged sections as required.
This project converted the three townhouses into individual dwellings, following procedures for fire compartmentation. Devoe Construction also carried out all works associated with finishes, fixtures and furniture to deliver the product to a turn-key standard.
This project struck the balance of conserving the integrity and heritage of the building while ensuring it was fit for current needs and compliant with current regulations.
