This project involved the identification, removal, containment and treatment of Japanese Knotweed. Japanese Knotweed is considered an invasive species of plant in Ireland which can quickly spread and dominate areas, outcompeting native flora and disrupting local ecosystems if not treated properly.  Landowners in Ireland are required by law to control and manage the spread of Japanese knotweed. Failure to do so can result in legal penalties and liability for any damages caused. Furthermore, the presence of knotweed can significantly reduce property values, making it more difficult to sell or develop land.

Devoe Construction devised and implemented a program of removal of the plant and its Rhizomes and a treatment program using herbicides was employed over a period of time as required. Ongoing monitoring of the areas is required to ensure the plant has been dealt with adequately.
